William Cruz’s 2009 EX-L V6 Coupe
February brings us another killer coupe for our Accord of the Month series. This particular 6-6 has perfected a look that started on this platform years ago. Air suspension and concave wheels continue to look great on the 8th generation Accord, and this coupe is no exception. Our Accord of the Month for February 2016 is William Cruz’s 2009 Nighthawk Black Pearl EX-L V6 six speed coupe.
The exterior of William’s car was kept nice and simple. He has added the Honda Factory Performance lip kit all around. He then put a custom fiberglass splitter to go underneath the front lip. Other small touches such as blacking out the Honda badges and adding a rear roof spoiler to help complete the look. The custom gold painted Vossen CV3s really set this coupe off. The front wheels are 20″ x 10″ +35 and the rears are 20″ x 10.5″ +45.
As you can probably tell, William’s coupe is on air suspension. He went with a company called CVT Designs for his suspension which is a nice change of pace from the ever-so-common AccuAir, AirLift Performance, and Airrex. Being able to lay the car on the ground really makes the concavity of the CV3s pop, especially in the rear. He finished it up with an Eibach Pro Alignment camber kit in the front and rear to dial in the fitment. Based on the picture below, William’s ride height is lower than some of our static members!
With William’s car being an EX-L trim level, he already had black leather interior. That didn’t stop him from making other additions and changes. Everything from the headliner and pillars to the dash trim and shift boot has been covered in red suede and it looks killer. He also converted to a custom short shifter and topped with a Blox shift knob. One of the more eye catching parts of the interior are the Pioneer double din with a custom mounted Android tablet right beneath it.
William has one of our favorite trunk set ups in an 8th generation Accord. He started off with putting a 10″ JL Audio sub in each corner with custom fiberglass boxes. The golden pecan wood floor and custom hard lines connecting his compressors, tank and management system make this trunk stand out big time. We especially like the display of dragon balls underneath the hard lines!
Overall we feel like this coupe was very well planned and put together. The Vossen CV3s are nothing new for this chassis but the color combo here is pretty eye catching. We’re really excited to see what other plans William has in store for his coupe. Go follow this build on Instagram and check out what he’s talking about on the forum!
A few words from William:
First I want to give a shout out to Bryan and Our8thGens for choosing my car to be Accord of the Month. It gives me motivation and satisfaction to know I’m going in the right direction. I’d also like to thanks my family and my crew Unique Edition for supporting in what I love. Especially Jose Reyna (Instagram) for always finding time to modify my car and being able to make my ideas reality. I’d also like to give a shout out to Alex Fuentes (Instagram) for these dope shots. In closing I’d just like to say I’m not even half way to where I want to be but I know with hard work and dedication I will get there.
