I just purchased Soundstream S-821ACRD and while I was installing I got error message.
"Booting CheckSum Error! please emergency upgrade.", So I found the upgrade files from soundstream, instructions are attached here as well.
Its very simple. Just make sure it says at end lock your SD card and then update it. Its very important. It will not update if SD card is not locked.
Since file was big and wasn't letting me add here, I will post up Dropbox link below.

That's good to know. I wonder if they also provide navi updates. I heard other name brands such as Power Acoustik and Fahrenheit that sell the same thing have terrible customer support.

I have a elantra and just put in the soundstream unit when this same error occurred. How did you get the firware update was it from the website? So there is a way around this error???

Yes this update was provided by soundstream! I have called them and got files from them. I have PDF Instruction attached with this post! please refer to that, its very easy and yes this is the way around this error.
Make sure your SD card is locked while you are updating otherwise it would not work.

Mine won't work. It boots up but then the screen goes black. It'll display the volume when adjusted, and also displays the menu so that I can adjust the bass, treble, etc... But then the screen goes back to black. Anyone have any idea how i can fix this?
